What is Kirtan
Kirtan is the shared practice of chanting mantras: an experience that brings love and peace, calms the mind and promotes deep wellbeing, helping us to rebuild an authentic connection with ourselves and those around us.

Benefits of Kirtan
– Enhances concentration, intuition and attention
– Improves breath control and emotional management
– Reduces stress, anxiety and depression by acting on the nervous system
– Dispels fears and worries, generating love and compassion
– Balances mind and body, promoting health and harmony

What to bring
A desire to get together and share a joyful practice!

This evening will be led by Team Cintamani Yoga, a group of teachers united by their passion for the transformative vibration of sound. Through song and music, we will explore together the rejuvenating power of Kirtan, going deep into the work on ourselves.

We look forward to you spreading the powerful magical vibrations of sound within and without! 🌟

First Anga: Yama
with Monica Gala teacher of Sivananda Yoga (training 200 hours), Anusara elements (training 200 hours), Hatha e Flow (training 200 hours), Yin Yoga (training 100 hours), Shiatsu Operator I.R.T.E. method (training 3 years)

Yoga Sutra Seminar – First Aṅga: Yama
Patañjali’s Yoga Sutras constitute a millenary manual for understanding the essence and practice of yoga. Divided into four chapters (pāda), they offer a path in eight ‘branches’, ‘steps’ (aṅga) to be followed to achieve physical, mental and spiritual balance.
The First Aṅga: Yama The term Yama denotes the ‘abstentions’ or universal ethical principles that govern our relationship with the outside world. In the first aṅga we find five fundamental Yamas:

1 – Ahimsā (do no harm)
Respect and care for all living beings and ourselves*, in thought and word

2 – Satya (truth)
Sincerity and integrity, avoiding deception and half-truths

3 – Asteya (not stealing)
Honesty in not taking or appropriating what does not belong to us

4 – Brahmacarya (moderation)
Conscious management of energies and moderation in sensory pleasures

5 – Aparigraha (non-accumulation: freedom from dependence on possessions, freedom from greed)
Detachment from material possessions and possessive emotions

Seminar Objectives
● To delve into the historical and philosophical significance of each Yama
● To recognise how the Yamas manifest in daily life and in the practice of Yoga
● To share experiences and doubts in a dialogic circle, fostering collective learning

3 – In-depth study of the five Yamas
4 – Experiential practice and meditation
5 – Sharing
