Saturday 12 April from 4.30 pm to 6 pm
Sound Bath and Yin Yoga
with Elisa Guerrini and Lorena Vedelago Yin Yoga teacher trained with Dhugal Meachem

Yin Yoga is a very peaceful and meditative style of yoga inspired by the Taoist thought of “yin and yang”. It therefore works on the Qi (energy) that flows in energy channels called meridians. It is a deep practice that calms the mind and stimulates the connective tissue. By holding the postures in optimal tension, aided by deep breathing and implemented by the VIBRATIONAL SOUND MASSAGE action of the harmonic bells and Planetary Gongs (also during practice), it relaxes all the muscles and eliminates accumulations, re-establishing the flow of energy in the entire organism. During this special Yoga session, THE POWER OF SOUND
will work in synergy with the asanas and help to develop greater body awareness, dissolve blockages and reactivate our innate self-care capacity.
Very relaxing and rejuvenating session.

Duration: 90-120 minutes – Contribution: € 25

Sunday 30 March from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
Introduction to the Yoga Sutras
Lecture on philosophy and practice

with Monica Gala teacher of Sivananda Yoga (training 200 hours), Anusara elements (training 200 hours), Hatha e Flow (training 200 hours), Yin Yoga (training 100 hours), Shiatsu operator I.R.T.E. method (training 3 years)

Some 2300 years ago, the Indian philosopher Patanjali was the first to codify the knowledge of a tradition that until then had only been transmitted orally. Behind the 4 chapters that the text presents, lies an incredible knowledge that comes from distant times. Truly, the Yogic model that Patanjali exposes to us is far removed from contemporary Yoga with its multitude of styles, names and methods. Patanjali explains to us the nature of our mind.
The mind (Citta), always overwhelmed by its activities (Vritti), finds it difficult to remain centred and focused.
If we pause to observe our thoughts, it is easy to realise that most of the time they are senseless, rambling, without a logical thread and often negative in nature. We identify with our thoughts, when our true nature transcends our thoughts. We are always searching for our essence but for some reason it constantly eludes us.
The practice helps a mind that is restless and always looking for new stimuli to feel content and fulfilled, thus reducing its activities.
The Yoga Sutras present tools to purify the mind, body and spirit.

Are you curious* to know more? Do you believe that the practice of Yoga goes beyond simple mechanical movements coordinated with the breath or beyond long held postures?
Would you like to begin a journey into the world of the roots of Yoga?
If the answer is yes, then this practical and theoretical meeting on Sunday 23 February could be useful for you.

Duration: 2 ½ hours- Fee: 25 € for Yoga in Centro subscribers and 30 € for non-subscribers

Join us to celebrate the spring equinox 2025.

Yin Yoga uses tools (blankets, pillows, bricks, etc) to allow the body to relax comfortably in the postures.
Tibetan and crystal bells, gongs and ancestral instruments will envelop you completely, amplifying your sensory experience.
In addition to being a complete sensory experience, the work will work in depth by purifying your subtle energy body.
Get in tune with the rhythms of nature. Even if your perception of yourself* is limited and your view of the world fragmented, remember that you are part of the infinite cosmos. You think you are just the drop, but in reality you are also the ocean.
This will be a unique and special moment of introspection that will take you on a deep meditative journey. Leave the lethargic energy of winter behind you and prepare to flourish, blossom and expand.

The spring equinox is a special astronomical time of year as the sun’s rays arrive perpendicular to the earth’s axis of rotation. The word equinox comes from the Latin aequĭnoctĭum, meaning ‘equal night (to day)’, that is, that day of the year when the hours of day and night are equal.
Reconnect with nature and its natural course.

Yin Yoga is a deep practice that harmonises Chi (energy flowing through the energy channels -meridians-). Based on the system of energy movements of the Taoist philosophy, it balances the energy supply in the meridians (it brings energy where there is deficiency and helps it flow through its unblocking where there is excess). The movements also have analogies with the seasons, the phases of life, our organs, our mind, our emotions.

On Friday 21st you will have the opportunity to practice a session completely dedicated to the Wood element and you will work on the Liver and Gall Bladder meridians harmonising their Chi. The Wood movement expresses its greatest expansion during spring.

Yoga session suitable for all levels.

Duration: 90-120 minutes – Fee: € 25

SOME INFORMATION ON THE PRACTICES OUR CENTRE OFFERS

🕉️ Yoga flow is a dynamic style. Through the synchronisation of breath with movement, it combines a sequence of postures into a single flow. Energetic, it helps to restore fluidity in the body and flexibility.

☯️ Qi Gong: designed to improve our state of health by mobilising our body’s energy, QI (Chi) or vital energy, to heal, revitalise and develop us spiritually. It combines static and dynamic exercises, gentle movements, stretching, self-massage, breathing, visualisation, meditation and relaxation.

🕉️ Anukalana means integration, it is a proposal to the practice of Yoga and Meditation that, based on the ancient tradition of Tantra, integrates rudiments of disciplines that share its aims and principles such as Qi Gong and Tai Chi. It is a practice based above all on fluid movement, which has always been the basis of traditional Indian practices such as dance and martial arts and, of course, Yoga.

🕉️ Gentle Yoga has a very gentle approach. It is suitable for people of all ages, women during pregnancy (from the third month) and those with back pain. The positions will be modified and adapted to the needs of the practitioners using tools (cushions, blocks, blankets, etc.).

🕉️ Hatha Sivananda is a classical style. The sequence is always the same. It is divided into a part dedicated to pranayama (breathing exercises), a second to the sun salutation (dynamic part), a third to a sequence of postures that work the whole body, ending with deep relaxation.

🕉️ Anusara is a method that has no fixed sequence. The whole class is focused on opening and preparing the body to arrive at a final apex posture (more or less complex) in an easy way. A theme is introduced at the beginning of the class and the lesson is very much related to that specific theme. The method is based on universal alignment principles. It is very attentive to anatomy and biomechanics of movement. The Anusara method gives stability and grounding and at the same time freedom and fluidity. The philosophy follows the lineage of non-dual Tantric Shivaism.

☯️ Yin yoga is a very introspective style of yoga. One enters a position slowly and gradually and then holds it for 3 to 5 minutes. This type of practice does not work on the muscles but on the connective tissues. It is inspired by the Taoist principle of Yin and Yang, stimulating the Chinese meridians to encourage the good flow of energy.
